Neocell Refreshing Herbal Mist, Collagen Radiance Serum, Collagen Moisturizing Treatment Masque, Review

If you're into nutraceutical supplements, you may have heard of Neocell. The company is known for its bevy of body and joint health, skincare and haircare products anchored on collagen. Just so we are on the same page, collagen plays an integral role in strengthening and rebuilding muscle mass and connective tissue. In skincare, collagen is key to maintaing skin strength and elasticity and depletion of such leads to wrinkles. I have tried a couple of their products in the past, both of which yielded positive experience so I gladly took another opportunity to try the skincare line, this time in topical presentations.

melanoma awareness month, skin cancer, skin cancer prevention, UVA UVB meaning, SPF, ABCDE of melanoma, warning signs melanoma
press samples, own purchase
May is Melanoma Awareness Month. As a beauty enthusiast and skincare advocate, I have covered skin cancer prevention numerous times on the blog. Melanoma is a deadly form of skin cancer; caught late, survival rate is markedly diminished. Statistically, more than 76,000 Americans are diagnosed with melanoma each year. It is also the most common cancer-related diagnosis among young adults (source, Melanoma Research Alliance). Unlike other forms of cancer, melanoma is highly preventable, only if you take skincare seriously. Here are ways to keep the largest organ of our body in check:

Been there, felt that. Growing up, I had my fair share of melodramatic moments, no thanks to acne. While my friends worried about prom dress, I was thinking how to cover up my despicable zits. Fast forward to adult years. Just when I thought I successfully conquered acne with various skincare products, they reappear like poltergeist every now and then. Though they're not as bad, this time thanks to hormonal shift a.k.a aging, I can say that I have mastered the art of putting my best face forward come hell or high water.

Today I'm sharing my weekend at-home spa, a ritual of pure self-pampering and uninterrupted bliss every Sundays. It's my me-time, and it's all about me because I love me.

This head to toe self-indulgence is non-negotiable. Face mask takes the biggest chunk, I have quite a collection so choosing which one is always a fun experience. Recently I was introduced to Stemology Cell Reboot Ageless Mask ($85, 1.76 oz), an anti-aging mask made from natural ingredients which are known to rejuvenate skin cells.

Dermalogica is one of my favorite skincare brands so whenever I get the chance to try something new from the line, elation becomes second nature. Today I'm sharing how to remove makeup efficaciously. I know it sounds petty but like common sense, it is not as common as one would surmise.

I'm a staunch advocate of "prevention is better than cure". As a vegetarian, non-alcoholic, non-smoker, and fitness enthusiast, I am happy to say that I'm starting to reap what I planted earlier on. Barring unforeseen medical conditions, I feel that at 40, I am at my healthiest stage with unprecedented stamina I can only describe in hashtag #pow. I practice the same philosophy when it comes to skincare. While I don't profess to possess flawless skin, what with acne marks and obvious pores (the awkward memories of my teenage years), I have been wearing sunscreen and using moisturizer for eons. For the most part, I think it is the primary reason why wrinkles haven't settled in yet.

If you had acne in your teens, your chance of experiencing the same agony in your adult years is most likely high. It's like a ghost from the past that keeps hunting you. I talk from experience and while I don't break out as much now, it's a PITA to be dealing with zits when you have other important matters to attend to. A comedic spinoff to this? you can't face a problem if the problem is your face!

If there is one common denominator among celebrities gracing the red carpet, that would be youthful glowing skin. My ultimate girl crush Jennifer Lopez is the epitome of ageless beauty. At mid-40s, her radiant skin rivals any woman half her age. It goes without saying that while she has a battalion of makeup experts doing all the magic, having great skin is the first step to looking fabulous!

I told you I'm serious with my #2 beauty resolution: strive to empty out. Blame beauty blogging and blog reading, these two go hand in hand when it comes to enabling, procuring and hoarding. So in my attempt to cut impulse purchases, I am conditioning myself to finish what's in my possession then evaluate if a repurchase is indeed necessary.

#bettereveryday, press samples
As some of you know, I turned 40 last July (read 40 things about me). It's a milestone I have embraced with bursting confidence and graceful maturity. With age comes experience, with experience comes wisdom. I lost some battles but conquered a thousandth. Age won't slow me down, inactivity will. That's why I constantly motivate myself to push the envelope and defy age. After all, it's just a number. Look young, feel young.
