If I were to pick my absolute favorite in the whole makeup category, lipstick wins by million miles. Sheer, sheen, matte, I've tried 'em all. But you know what ruins a perfect lippy? dry and cracked lips!So how do you extend some TLC to your lips then? let's talk exfoliation. You can be Ms. Fancy with a store-bought lip scrub or Ms. Frugal by mixing olive oil and brown sugar. The second step is hydration. I had the opportunity to try two lip products from Murad from its Age Reform line, the Soothing Skin and Lip Care and Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips. Are they any different from your trusted lip balm?
Meant to revitalize lips for a plumper and more youthful appearance, Rapid Infusion for Lips is a milky-white serum which feels cool for few seconds and dries quite velvety. I prefer using it in the morning prior to lipstick application because it also acts as a primer, at least based on my experience. Better lipstick slip and adherence, to be more precise about it. While I didn't notice immediate plumping effect, I will continue to use it as another step to "youth preservation". Anything to delay signs of aging, you bet I'm in.
Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Dimethicone, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Phenyl Trimethicone, Shea Butter Ethyl Esters, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Carbomer, Butylene Glycol, Brassica Alba Sprout Extract, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Collagen Amino Acids, Ethylene Propylene Copolymer, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterols, Linoleic Acid, Phospholipids, Punica Granatum Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Erythritol, Betaine, Inositol, Taurine, Trehalose, Urea, Yeast Amino Acids, Hyaluronic Acid, Tripeptide-3, Hexapeptide-3, Phenoxyethanol, Flavor (Aroma)
Besides my husband's soft lips and dog's cold nose, the last object which touches and lingers on my lips before I call it a night is a lip balm. I have quite a collection so I do rotate my balms to give them equal attention. Lips and Soothing Skin and Lip Care is a healing salve that moisturizes and treats dry and flaky lips. It's un-tinted and fragrance-free. Since I don't have zombie-dry lips (vanity has benefits I tell 'ya), I can't confirm the treatment part; however, I can attest to waking up with ultra-soft kissable lips!
Petrolatum, Benzyl Cinnamate, Tocopheroyl Acetate, Lanolin, Aldehyde C-16, Cetyl Esters, Salicylic Acid
What's your Lip Care 101 like?
I am not a fan of their skincare stuff but I would definitely try this!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried any Murad products, but I will someday! I've been using City Lips Lip Plumper because it has collagen and HA, and it has been the only thing that stays on my lips and actually prevents them from drying out. These sound like a good alternative
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love a good healing salve for the winter months when my lips start to crack no matter how often I use a balm!
ReplyDeleteI soak my lips before I go to bed at night and I'm a HUGE fan of Murad. Def checking this out!

ReplyDeleteI like the sound of Rapid Collagen. I bet that would help my poor lips.
ReplyDeleteI could use some lip stuff right now. <3
ReplyDeleteThese sound great! My lips have been drier than usual, so I've been using a bit of everything at every hour of the day to try and keep them moisturized.
