Reviva Labs Hawaiian Seaweed Cleansing Milk and Beauty Mask :: Review, Photos

Fact of life: with cool weather comes dry skin. Either you prevent it or ignore this nuisance. But for the skincare and/or beauty-obsssessed, you and I know there is a solution. A plethora at that.

I had the opportunity to try Reviva Labs Hawaiian Seaweed Cleansing Milk ($8, 4 fl oz) and Hawaiian Seaweed Beauty Mask ($12, 1.5 oz). Do they have to be specifically Hawaiian seaweeds to reap stellar results? I eat 'em but to put on my face, you bet my curiosity was through the roof.

Much like the Swiss green apple stem theory, anti-aging proponents found a goldmine in seaweeds. Depending on how "scientific" they are marketed, seaweed-infused products can be spendy. Hawaiian seaweeds are purported to be rich in proteins, vitamins A and C, and other vital minerals.

Hawaiian Seaweed Cleansing Milk looks and feels like a moisturizer. It's thicker compared to other cleansers I have tried. I like how my face feels after washing, it's  soft and smooth akin to a baby's butt. Minor gripe, I wish it came with a dispensing pump because squeezing the product out was a tad difficult.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Vegetable Oils, Coco Betaine, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Hawaiian Seaweed Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance.

I like face masks because I associate it with "me time a.k.a don't dare disturb me or else". I do it 3x a week for 30 minutes. Hawaiian Seaweed Beauty Mask feels creamy but dries like a mud. Immediately after rinsing, my skin looks fresh and hydrated. Now that's what I call winter-ready skin.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Hawaiian Seaweed Extract, Kaolin, Bentonite, Glycerin, Lubrajel, Wheat Germ Oil, Polysorbate 20, Sorbitol, Essential Oil Fragrance, Mica, Chromium Oxide Greens, Diaz, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Ctric Acid.

Have you tried any seaweed-based products? thoughts?

  5. I live on the East Coast by the ocean, and everyone here says that seaweed is great for skin...though I haven't tried crafting my own from the seaweed on the beach. I like all the products I've tried from Reviva. They are the best value in effective skincare products!
