A dear friend asked me not too long ago if I can recommend great makeup brushes that aren't crazy expensive; my top of mind response was Beauty Junkees as I've had positive experience with their kabuki set (reviewed here) and eye brush set (reviewed here). So when Julie (the brain behind the brand) asked me if I'm interested to try her newly released palette, the Powder Contour Kit, I said yes with much gusto!

Let me tell you, I don't contour on a daily basis but if I feel like "glamming" up, it helps to have an all-in-one palette that does the entire job. Highlighting on the other hand is something I have been doing quite frequently because it instantly lights up a rather dull face. The quality of these powders is at par with mainstream brands. Think Kat Von D for contour and Hourglass for highlighting as the texture of these powders are somewhat similar. Whenever I contour, I do it light-handedly so much so that it "slims" my round face by creating shadows but nothing over the top, I mean especially for a day job which involves patient interactions. I do the same for highlighting powder, I lightly dust over the high points of my cheeks, forehead and cupid's bow. Here's a typical example:
You look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic kit! Their products are so nice, and reasonably priced!
ReplyDeleteI need to order some of their brushes and try them out.
ReplyDeleteI wrote my review over the weekend but my photos are much too dark. I like the light powders and one of the darker ones on my skin. I don't contour often but I love having this around for the occasions that I'm in the mood.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great price! The range of shades is pretty fab too!
ReplyDeleteI'm a very sporadic contour-er too, but I really like the look of this.
ReplyDeleteThose contour shades definitely look light enough for me to wear with ease! I need to try some of those brushes at some point, I hear SO many good things.
