Retailing for $39 (30ml, 1 fl oz), PUR Hydrafluid Water Serum Foundation renders light yet buildable coverage with noticeable dewy finish and weightless feel on the face. Made for maturing and/or dry skin, this foundation features an encapsulated water complex sourced from the Swiss Alps glacier water which claims to provide skin with sublime hydration.

The see-thru nozzle and slim tube gives an impression that it is first and foremost, a skincare product. From a consumer standpoint, I think it is a clever marketing move because I view it multi-functional more than anything else. You need 2-3 pumps to cover the face evenly. I find that it applies and blends better with foundation brush compared to beauty sponge. Without setting powder, I had to blot my face three times during a ten-hour wear time. With setting powder, I noticed shine at mid-day so I had to blot to reduce the extra dewiness. It does melt with sweat so if you're heading outdoors or working out vigorously, it's something to consider but with indoors or day-to-day office shenanigans, this foundation makes skin appear glowing and smooth. As mentioned, this appeals to dry and/or combination skin and not so much with  oily, given the oil breakthrough component.

There are only five shades to choose from so expect hit or miss. Given their limited spectrum, I fall between light and medium as I find the latter a tad darker for my normally medium skin tone. For reference, here's moi before and after. PUR Hydrafluid did minimize some redness and unevenness.

  2. This foundation is a nice light coverage on you! So far, it's been a bit too light for my red/acne prone skin, but I am anxious to try it on my Mom. I think it'll be perfect for her. I wish there was a fair option!

  5. I adore this new foundation but I wish they had a shade, Fair, because the Light is just a tiny bit too dark but not enough to keep me away from it

  6. I'm typically not a foundation user, but this sounds too amazing not to try!

  7. This sounds like something I'd enjoy. I wish Pur's lightest shade was lighter than this. I still love to try it though.

  8. Looks great, just hope it's not too sheer for me--I need at least medium coverage.

  10. I really like the lighter feel of serum foundations, but I'm not sure this would work on my oily skin. Love your finished look!
