Retailing for $55 (total net weight 0.75 oz/ 21.3 g), this 12-color neutral palette in varying finish and texture is housed in a sturdy and chic black cardboard box with magnetic closure. It comes with a double-ended eyeshadow brush and mirror big enough to use when applying makeup.

There are five mattes (Bask, Veil, Ascend, Wane, Downfall), five shimmers (Afterglow, Pulse, Muse, Impact, Out There), and two sheens with glittery particles (Shroud, Immortal). The shimmers are buttery-soft while mattes are velvety-to-touch. Applied over eye primer, they blend seamless with commendable wear time of seven to eight hours.

I used Downfall on my eyebrows, Wane on crease and Impact on lids. I kept the rest of my makeup pretty simple to compliment the neutrality of it all.

  5. I have this palette and was very surprised how nice it was. Borghese makeup is kind of under the radar, but they have a lot of gems. For instance, their lip glosses are seriously impressive!
