Last weekend, I spent my birthday at Laniwai Spa inside Disney Aulani. I've been meaning to get a massage for the longest time so it was the perfect opportunity to indulge and relax. I booked the signature lomilomi for my niece and I (a traditional Hawaiian rhythmic massage using sticks and warm river stones to ease tension and fatigue). We checked in two hours prior our schedule so we can enjoy the facilities (steam, sauna, jacuzzi, whirlpool spa) all to ourselves.
Spa like no other, spendy but well worth it. From the entrance, the spa attendant led us inside with welcome stones (close eyes, pick river stone). I randomly selected Harmony, she told me it's going to be my mantra for the day.

| Sea salt scrub bar. We were asked to sniff and select our favorite fragrance for our take-home goodie. I chose Pikake. |
After a quick tour of the facilities, we deposited our bags in designated lockers and off we went to enjoy the outdoor jacuzzi and whirlpool.
Our tummies started to growl a little so we went to the Relaxation/Waiting Room for some mini-cupcakes topped with macarons. With twenty minutes left before our appointment, we cleaned up and showered.

Finally our names were called and we were politely escorted to the massage room. I had to leave my phone in the locker so I will just summarize my whole lomilomi experience in one word. PERFECTION. Five words. I WILL GO BACK AGAIN. I asked the masseuse to focus on my back area and boy it felt so over-the-top amazing, with every kink and tension relieved. Did I just whisper nirvana?
