Fragrance is relative and will always be one. One night I was wearing Tom Ford Black Orchid, hubzilla sniffed and uttered "babe you smell like an old lady". Nimble and witty, I replied "oh really? now I know what to wear when I turn 60!" His nose versus mine. I wear for my olfactory's satisfaction. Case in point, my nifty fragrance collection which is hugely dominated by Bvlgari. Today I will focus on my top three choices depending on the mood I want to project #itsagirlthang
Seductive, dark, mysterious. Bvlgari Jasmine Noir (EDT) is part-floral, part-woodsy. At first whiff, it comes out a tad strong, more like masculine; but after ten minutes or so, it dries down to a sweet floral scent with wear time of about eight hours. It's an intriguing mix of jasmine, almond and musk. It isn't overbearing and while I prefer to wear it at night or during colder months (Fall to Winter), it is daytime-friendly.
Elegant, timeless, sophisticated. Rose can be a hit or miss but Bvlgari Rose Essentielle (EDP) has been one of my favorite scents since it first came out in 2006 (repurchased many times). This isn't your old lady's perfume unless it clashes with your own body chemistry. It's a marriage between rose and berries with a hint of musk. It has the longest wear time, 15 hours or even more. With rose being a Spring 2015 trend , you bet I'm wearing this more than ever!
Sporty, free-spirited, one-of-the-boys. A blind purchase from Gilt which turned out to be delight, BLV II (EDP) is quite powdery with distinguishable aquatic note. It's what I prefer when I'm dressed down i.e yoga pants/sneakers vis-a-vis no makeup days. While it can pass for a unisex fragrance at first whiff, it is very womanly once it dries down.
Finally, here's a snapshot of my Bvlgari fragrance collection. The mod bottles sit perfectly on top of my dresser for easy access and to add visual appeal to my home office-slash-makeup-room-slash-woman-cave. 'Told you, #itsagirlthang
