I'm all buried under the sheets as I type this post. Windy and quite chilly at noon, it's the perfect bed weather for moi. While I extremely love this kind of siesta-inducing vibe, it does take a toll on my skin, particularly my legs and arms. Dry flaky skin, what a humbug! That's why I exfoliate more frequently this time of the year to help moisturizers sink in better. As an exfoliant junkie, I'm telling you pointblank that not all are created equal. Anything too coarse and scratchy isn't good for your skin, and anything that contains artificial microbeads isn't good for the environment.

I had the opportunity to try Teadora Rainforest At Dusk Body Polish ($34, 6 oz / $10, 1.5 oz), an all-natural cruelty-free exfoliant which uses acai seeds and amazonian clay for exfoliation and oils for optimal hydration: buriti (rich in Vitamins A, C, E), maracuja (brightens the skin), brazil nut (moisturizes skin).
The crushed acai seeds are very tiny (as photographed) which renders gentle exfoliation. It smells woodsy and musky (or very grown-up) which you may or may not like. I have no issue with it because it has to be rinsed anyways. While my skin is still damp, I generously apply body oil thereafter. For your reference, below you will find Teadora's environment-friendly ingredients:
Aqua, Organic Coco Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Kaolin (Brazil White Clay), Decyl Glucoside, Diatomaceous Earth, Bentonite, Organic Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Bertholletia Excelsa Seed (Brazil Nut) Oil, Pumice, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Kosher Glycerine, Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí) Seed Powder, Orbignya Oleifera (Babassu) Seed Oil, Passiflora Incarnata (Passionfruit) Seed Oil, Organic Rasa Canina (Rose Hip) Seed Oil, Organic Mauritia Flexuosa (Buriti) Fruit Oil, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit (Açaí) Oil, Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit (Buriti) Extract, Non-GMO Tocopherol (Mixed-Ester) Vitamin E, Ascophyllum Nodosum, Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B5), Caprylyl Glycol, Eugenia Uniflora Fruit (Pitanga) Extract, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C) Ester, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Natural Fragrance.
Bottom line, if you want to break free from mainstream and over-commercialized brands, Teadora is definitely worth-checking out.
I'm a sucker for body scrubs, I tend to like woodys smells on my husband
ReplyDeleteI have this and LOVE IT! It smells divine and leaves my skin so soft and silky! Excellent review, as always! <3
ReplyDeleteI think I would really like this.
ReplyDeleteIngredients wise it looks really good. Bit of a downer that it contains Retinyl Palmitate when the brand is meant to be environmentally-friendly. Palm oil is such a nasty issue. Hopefully they will reformulate it without any palm oil derivatives.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't a fan of the scent, but it does work great!
ReplyDeleteI love this body polish. I may not like the scent, but it's worth it anyway!
ReplyDeleteI like how this makes my skin feel.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy a good scrub :)
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of this and how it moisturizes but it's not "scrubby" enough for my skin. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that it isn't harsh as my skin gets red easily.
ReplyDeleteI'm addicted to body scrubs this season!
ReplyDeleteI love body scrubs that aren't too oily, but still moisturize.
ReplyDeleteI love this stuff!
ReplyDeleteI can't get enough of this baby
ReplyDeletehmmm...interesting. This seems like a good one to try out. I like the scent that its woody and musky.
ReplyDeleteSounds great! I love a body scrub that moisturizes.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this as well!
ReplyDeleteI heard this was good, IDK if I could handle the scent, tho =(
ReplyDeleteI need to try more Teadora!
ReplyDeleteI could always use a new scrub.
ReplyDeleteI like how natural the ingredients are, but I prefer a harsher body scrub :)
