Teadora Rainforest At Dusk Body Polish (Review)

I'm all buried under the sheets as I type this post. Windy and quite chilly at noon, it's the perfect bed weather for moi. While I extremely love this kind of siesta-inducing vibe, it does take a toll on my skin, particularly my legs and arms. Dry flaky skin, what a humbug! That's why I exfoliate more frequently this time of the year to help moisturizers sink in better. As an exfoliant junkie, I'm telling you pointblank that not all are created equal. Anything too coarse and scratchy isn't good for your skin, and anything that contains artificial microbeads isn't good for the environment.

Teadora Rainforest At Dusk Body Polish, exfoliation, issue with microbeads

I had the opportunity to try Teadora Rainforest At Dusk Body Polish ($34, 6 oz / $10, 1.5 oz), an all-natural cruelty-free exfoliant which uses acai seeds and amazonian clay for exfoliation and oils for optimal hydration: buriti (rich in Vitamins A, C, E), maracuja (brightens the skin), brazil nut (moisturizes skin).

The crushed acai seeds are very tiny (as photographed) which renders gentle exfoliation. It smells woodsy and musky (or very grown-up) which you may or may not like. I have no issue with it because it has to be rinsed anyways. While my skin is still damp, I generously apply body oil thereafter. For your reference, below you will find Teadora's environment-friendly ingredients:

Aqua, Organic Coco Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Kaolin (Brazil White Clay), Decyl Glucoside, Diatomaceous Earth, Bentonite, Organic Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Bertholletia Excelsa Seed (Brazil Nut) Oil, Pumice, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Kosher Glycerine, Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí) Seed Powder, Orbignya Oleifera (Babassu) Seed Oil, Passiflora Incarnata (Passionfruit) Seed Oil, Organic Rasa Canina (Rose Hip) Seed Oil, Organic Mauritia Flexuosa (Buriti) Fruit Oil, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit (Açaí) Oil, Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit (Buriti) Extract, Non-GMO Tocopherol (Mixed-Ester) Vitamin E, Ascophyllum Nodosum, Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B5), Caprylyl Glycol, Eugenia Uniflora Fruit (Pitanga) Extract, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C) Ester, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Natural Fragrance.

Bottom line, if you want to break free from mainstream and over-commercialized brands, Teadora is definitely worth-checking out.

  4. Ingredients wise it looks really good. Bit of a downer that it contains Retinyl Palmitate when the brand is meant to be environmentally-friendly. Palm oil is such a nasty issue. Hopefully they will reformulate it without any palm oil derivatives.

  8. I love the smell of this and how it moisturizes but it's not "scrubby" enough for my skin. :)

  9. I love that it isn't harsh as my skin gets red easily.
