Guerlain Holiday 2014 Meteorites Pearls d'Etoiles: Review, Photos, FOTD

Despite my devotion for all-things Guerlain, those cult-classic meteorites failed to persuade me. Well never say never because this holiday season, I sold my soul to these petite bellas.

Weak in the knees. From the eclectic golden metal packaging to its resplendent multi-colored pearls,  my new beauty kryptonite was unleashed.

Part of Guerlain Holiday 2014 limited collection (check out my review of Palette Petrouchka and 820 Rouge Parade Lipstick), these meteorites feature six radiant tones in matte and pearl finish which are designed to enhance one's complexion.

So let's backtrack a bit. The main reason I have avoided this type of finishing powder in the past is the sheen/shimmer component which in my opinion may potentially exaggerate my biggest waterloo: big pores and greasy face.

But that was then. Now that I have joined the big 4-0 club, I noticed that my skin looks better with some dewiness. Bring back the youth, I clamor! Interestingly enough, my fear of the unknown was recouped with solid conviction that these kryptonites are my little-known-secret to deceive my true age. You know, glow = young.

Not at all glittery! Applied on my cheekbones and nose tip, and sparingly all over the face (whatever powder is left on the brush), I was delighted to see the absence of chunky glitters or over-the-top disco ball shimmers. However, there is obvious luminosity that seems to brighten my face. I repeat, glow = young.

Blended and buffed onto the face with puffy powder brush, these meteorites worked well with my medium skin tone. The red and pink pearls, combined with bronze and champagne, rendered warmth and vibrance perfectly. If you're familiar with Guerlain products, the signature tiare fragrance can't be missed. It smells divine and never overpowering. One word: luxe.

I don't need these since my current tin will probably last forever, but I want them nonetheless. Welcome to the dark side. :D
