So let's tackle facial cleansers this time. Do you use a specific brand or line that caters to your skin type because you're cool like that or you don't bother at all because you're not-so cool like that? But seriously, which one are you?
Murad got me covered from acne to wrinkles. While my skincare needs are more focused on anti-aging, a zit or two once a month still bothers me. And yes, my unusually big pores need unclogging from time to time. High maintenance? I don't deny! As a brand ambassador, I had the pleasure of trying out some Murad facial cleansers, here they are in no random order:
For a pretty normal, no-problem day, I use Murad Essential- C Cleanser. Packed with Vitamins A, C and E, this cleanser rehydrates my skin while neutralizing free radicals (responsible for premature aging), plus it has citrus scent which makes facial washing a delightful experience. I use this mostly in the mornings to prep my skin for makeup.
Ingredients: Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Aminomethyl Propanol, Polysorbate 20, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Phospholipids, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Ascorbic Acid, Chitosan, Rice Amino Acids, Zinc Aspartate, Allantoin, Sodium PCA, Lactose, Cellulose, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Propyl Gallate, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Limonene, Linalool, Orange Oil, Mandarin Orange Peel Oil, Basil Oil, Grapefruit Peel Oil, Galbanum Resin Oil, Fragrance, Iron Oxides (CI 77492).
For clean and clear skin, I use Murad Skin Smoothing Polish twice a week to unclog my pores. This non-abrasive exfoliant scrubs away impurities to reveal soft and brighter skin. I consider it my preventive measure to abort black or whiteheads (but sometimes these bad guys still triumph, ugh!)
Ingredients: Water, Silica, Stearic Acid, Jojoba Esters, Glyceryl Stearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Butylene Glycol, PPG-2 Hydroxyethyl Cocamide, Urea, Yeast Amino Acids, Trehalose, Inositol, Taurine, Betaine, Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Bark Extract, Sarcosine, Capryloyl Glycine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Punica Granatum Extract, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ceteareth-20, PEG-32, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Aminomethyl Propanol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Fragrance (Parfum), Red 40 (CI 16035).
For troubled skin like today, I turn to Murad Transforming Powder Dual-Action Cleanser and Exfoliator. Unlike other exfoliants, this cleanser comes in powder form which is activated by water. It contains salicylic acid and pumpkin seed extract to help keep pores clean.
Ingredients: Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Hydrated Silica, Jojoba Esters, Glycerin, Maltodextrin, PEG-8 Dimethicone, PEG-8 Ricinolate, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Extract, Salicylic Acid, Bacillus Ferment, Dextrin, Polydextrose, Amylopectin, Niacinamide, Subtilisin, Water, Lipase, Fragrance.
So as a segue to my question earlier, is washing your face enough because you're cool like that or you know that's its just the first step to a regimen because you're cooler like that? chime in!
I belong to the "cooler" crowd so stay tuned for my updated skincare...

The cleanser exfoliate sounds great.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I'm not a huge cleanser user -- the more I wash my face, the worse it gets. But I have always loved Murad! :)
ReplyDeleteI love a citrus face wash, too. I alternate between cleansers a lot. I have this cool, fun tofu-like one I got from Memebox, and I also like my Mario Badescu for acne...and there's more... Lol. These sound like a great regimen for me, though, with my oily skin. I should try more things from Murad.
ReplyDeleteI haven´t tried any Murad products, but these sounds like good ones.
ReplyDeleteAt the moment I stick to removing my make-up with an oil and then use a very gentle face wash, but that's because I'm on Accutane right now. Hopefully I have to figure out a whole new routine when I'm done!
ReplyDeleteMy skin is super sensitive and gets so dry too, I'm always on the look out for new products that will help!
ReplyDeleteI love Murad products. I used to use their acne concealer all the time! I don't remember what it was called, but there was a body scrub for acne that totally helped tame my bacne a few years back.
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with Murad! I need to try that transforming powder.
ReplyDeleteI use 100% Pure products currently because they are all natural and they are working pretty great lately! I usually need to switch up my routine every once in a while so I'll definitely keep this in mind!
ReplyDeleteI need to get that cleanser. I have the other two and passed them to my teenager, who does not have as good face cleansing habits as I do lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! I follow a 3 step cleansing routine that involves exfoliating enzyme powder, oil, and foam, and it works well for me.
ReplyDeleteI am also a steps person, makeup remover, cleanser and toner. I think for my skin it works well. I actually recommended Murad's toner after reading that it worked for you, she is so happy with it!
ReplyDeleteI have products I like for cleansing my very dry skin. :)
ReplyDeleteI use cleansers daily with the olay brush because I want to prevent any possible breakouts and of course aging.
ReplyDeleteI've had really bad luck with anti-acne products I've tried from Murad :(
ReplyDeleteI really like murad products.
ReplyDeleteI love the Essential C cleanser!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any of these... but love the brightening serum from Murad... it doesn't cause me to flare up with my sensitive skin.
ReplyDeleteI love Murad products!
ReplyDeleteI need to try Murad products! These sound great!
ReplyDeletewow! these all seem great!
ReplyDeleteI've heard that this is a great brand, I'll have to try some of these!
ReplyDeleteThese sound fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love that graphic at the end of your post. It's great to see what the products look like outside of the packaging.
