Designer brand-loving zillas unite! As previously noted, I've been stalking this line forever so imagine my elation when my initial order finally came, all intact thankfully!

What a massive collection, Gucci Beauty that is! Choosing which items to purchase online seemed more of an arduous task because I don't want to break the bank obviously. For eyeshadows alone, there are 10 variations of Magnetic Color Quad, 18 Mono's, and 7 Duo's.

For today's post, I will be focusing on Gucci Eye Magnetic Color Shadow Duo in 040 Autumn Fire ($65, 5g, Neiman Marcus), an eye candy befitting this season! 

Luxe-feel, monogram overload.  Black and gold combo epitomizes luxury, at least in my opinion. My wardrobe is predominantly black and I wear gold 365d. Mix both together and I'm in. While the eyeshadow case is made from plastic, you can tell that the quality is never compromised: there is heft to it, it snaps magnetically, and the embossed gold monogram is distinctively luxe. However, I have this trivial observation which you may find borderline nitpicky: I hate matchy-matchy because it comes out tacky. From the monogrammed box, monogrammed velvet pouch, monogrammed case, monogrammed individual shades, can someone explain this obsession? Branding is one thing but to be constantly bombarded is another. It's akin to a woman wearing monogram from head to toe: shades, purse, jeans, shoes, watch, ugh I can't!

Flawless application, crease-free perfection. Looking past the GGGGGGG overload, this particular quad wins in terms of color payoff, wearability and texture. Applied wet or dry over an eye primer, these eyeshadows performed well way past nine hours sans fading and creasing. All four shades have moderate (but buildable) pigmentation, something a neutral-loving woman will greatly appreciate. They are finely-milled with negligible fallouts. Autumn Fire reminds me of fall foliage, it's like a maple leaf changing color before your very eyes: peachy gold (shimmer), rose gold (shimmer), plum (shimmer), brown (matte)....don't you just love fall?
