Minimal. That's how I can perfectly describe my overall preference; from makeup to skincare to fashion, I'm all about simplicity. Add clean eating and active lifestyle, the road to mid-age is looking bright. I have been quite silent on the blog and vlog because the past weeks I had been particularly busy de-stashing my beauty stash and closet. Purge and donate those I don't see myself wearing or using ever again. What has no value to me may mean more to people around me. I have also sold some of my designer purses (I may sell here, stay tuned); see, it's a total life revamp I tell you.

Minimal makeup. Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion Brightening SPF50 is a nice cushion foundation for those with normal to combination skin. If you are a woman of certain age, you will like its subtle dewy finish which makes your skin glow from within. Deep Beige (no.25) is a close match to my medium light warm skin tone. I have always been a fan of Hourglass Ambient line, Luminous Flush is a nice cheek color; applied light-handedly, the hint of pink renders barely-there luminosity which brightens your face. Smudge and waterproof, Tarte Lights Camera Lashes is still my go-to mascara, it gives length and volume at the same. For neutral lips, I like Marc Jacobs Liquid Lip Hot Cocoa. It's not drying, it may not be as long-wearing as Smashbox or Anastasia liquid lipstick but the formula does not accentuate lip lines.
Minimal styling. When it comes to fashion, less is also more. In fact, simple is chic. Update your trousers with a pair of cigarette pants, pair it with loafers or ankle booties, a nice fitting top and silver (or white gold) jewelries. Effortless styling missy!
Clean eating. As some of you know, I have been vegetarian for many many years, went vegan for two years, switched back to vegetarian but now that I am legit lactose-intolerant and more knowledgeable on plant-based food vis-a-vis nutritional requirements, I am 100% back to vegan eating. With emphasis on eating (I refuse to call it diet because the latter is associated with some form of weight loss when technically it just pertains to the kind of food somene eats) because I am still in the process of cleaning the lifestyle aspect of it. I am not perfect, neither a hardcore vegan preacher but my husband and I made a vow to live a compassionate and healthy life together. Yes ladies and gentlemen, my once carnivore hub is now a vegan food convert. Happy wife, happy life ha! More than a month now, his energy level has improved and his enthusiasm for homemade meals made by yours truly can't be denied. He said ever since he started on this journey, he has never felt this better, health-wise. And oh, the Spanish Rice and baked Oat Banana cookies I made yesterday were a gastronomic hit!
Great to know. It will come in time! I switched back and forth before between vegetarian and vegan for health reasons. The ethical component came at a later part and that what kept me from being vegan
LOL! That was my life before, also had to cook different meals even during holidays! Now it's just one vegan buffet. We're celebrating our upcoming anniversary in a new vegan restaurant here so it's going to be exciting!
I love the MJ Liquid Lips lip color. I've gotta see if there's any way to get a sanitary sample to try it out. Is it a matte or a gloss? Love your B&W dots <3
I just LOVE that lip color on you! You can see a trend tho, I love every lip color you wear....I wonder if they would work for me. I'd like to sell a lot of high end purses too, I just don't need them anymore
I think you will like Marc Jacobs. I sold some through eBay. I'm planning to do a blog sale but let's see coz I have been giving them away to my circle first
I love this look, and a minimal makeup look is by far my favorite!
ReplyDeleteWould have loved to see what you decluttered! I did mine recently and gave away 14 lipsticks. Boy, does it feel good!
ReplyDeleteOver a hundred lipsticks already. My mom mostly got all so she's wearing one shade a day 💗
Deletebtw, I forgot to mention clothes, shoes and bags. I am glad to have been able to really sort thru everything. I would say I'm 90% done
DeleteI just purged a bunch of makeup too! I've been a vegetarian for 16 years. I do love eating vegan too, but haven't fully moved over.

DeleteMy cousin (who lives on Oahu) is vegetarian and her hubs also converted since he does all the cooking and he didn't like making 2 meals. LOL!

ReplyDeleteCreamy and semi matte. Thanks Allison
DeleteYou've made some great changes. I remember how you loved purses so that's a biggie.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marcia. Yes I'd say it's a complete turnaround.
DeleteI love this liquid lip colour!
ReplyDeleteI need to have a cleanout and get rid of stuff I just won't grab for again.
Hey! We should all share one meal and one desert receive.... that would be awesome, perhaps even a beauty smoothie all either vegan or vegetarian!
ReplyDeletecool idea! I have plenty of vegan recipes
DeleteI'm definitely into minimal makeup and minimal effort! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm working on destashing as well (and actually finishing products.). I didn't realize just how much stuff I had. I love that lip colour, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could destash things, but find it so hard and draining. Congrats to you!
ReplyDeleteLess is definitely more. I don't overdo makeup, I like that natural dewey look. That lippie is so pretty!

DeleteI definitely understand the less is more feeling. I often get urges to purge all of the unnecessary things I've accumulated over the years.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a natural beauty, girl! <3 That Marc Jacobs liquid lipstick looks fantastic....I think I need to add that to my wish list on Sephora!!
ReplyDeleteI love having a good declutter, just destashed a bunch of polish but not nearly as many as I should have LOL x
