Style & Makeup Weekly Roundup: Black & White, Ponte Pants & A Dash of Red

Officially October! It's Halloween month, it also marks the return of The Walking Dead (in 3 weeks!) which means I am alive again! The past week was a whirlwind, extremely busy to say the least, work-wise.

So I started this Style and Makeup Weekly Roundup to feature makeups I enjoy and adore  (links to previous reviews are provided for further reference) and to start a diary of outfits. As a side note, I take photos of my makeup and outfits in the morning just before I head out for work (with sneak peeks on my Instagram). I hope you find some of these helpful in your next makeup or outfit purchase.

Ponte pants are basically leggings but with better stretch and thickness, and depending on the brand, have better quality and wear than traditional leggings. I love to pair them with boyfriend shirt, oxford shoes, bootie or ballet flats for ultimate comfort. Vince Camuto has petite size (I am wearing size S and it fits like a glove). Relatively affordable but extremely comfortable, I love Softwalk oxford suede shoes, they're perfect for work & long walks because of the cushioned footbed and ergonomically tailored arch support.

A great way to break a monochromatic outfit is to wear bright red lipstick or carry a red purse. Two of my favorites were featured the past week, the Tom Ford Matte Ruby Rush (swatched here) and Chloe paraty bag (a holiday present to myself two years ago, I believe. Mostly sold out but I found one online at Saks although different color but with greatly reduced price, such a steal!).

As you can probably tell, I love black. One way to spice it up is to wear pearl accessories such as earrings and necklace. They never go out of style. Classic and elegant indeed.

Obsessed with cold shoulders, I am! You can pair them with skirt or skinny jeans like I did in the photo. This was my outfit for lunch date with the husband yesterday. I got this (including the heeled shoes) from Hautelook (invite link). The shoulder bag is from Nina Ricci (arc shoulder, sold out).
