Ask me about beauty oils several years ago and I'd shun at the idea, not with my overly greasy and acne-prone skin! But fast forward today and with age creeping up, what used to be animosity has metamorphosed to praise. A love affair borne out of long courtship. So without further ado, I present to you some of my favorite beauty oils and their promising skin benefits:

Lather Chia Seed & Passion Fruit Facial Oil ($32, 1 fl oz): Packaged in a glass bottle with dropper, this paraben-free and cruelty-free facial oil features chia seed, one of the richest plant sources of omega-3 alpha linolenic acid which is excellent in moisturizing severely dehydrated skin. It also has passion fruit seed a.k.a maracuja oil, which is abundant in omega-6 linoleic acid for optimal hydration. On top of that, it has vitamins A, C and E, grape seed oil, rose hip oil and tahitian monoi oil, which all address aging, dry and dull skin.
PurErb Vitality Deep Cleansing Oil ($9, 1 oz or $ $32, 6 oz) is a great cleanser-slash-makeup remover. It removes the very last trace of gunk, dirt and residues leaving skin silky-smooth and super clean. It is made from 15 exotic botanical oils such as absynnian (non-greasy yet helps skin look radiant), moringa (antiseptic and anti-inflammatory), geranium (tights and firms skin), kukui (rich in antioxidants), frankincense (all-around treatment for acne, sores, burns, rashes), and sacha inchi (relieves dry and itchy skin).
Ahava Dead Sea Crystal Osmoter Facial Serum ($66, 1 fl oz) is an oil-based serum made from highly-concentrated mineral content sourced from the eponymous Dead Sea, which for centuries, is known for its superb healing powers for various skin conditions. I discussed it in detail here.
Farmhouse Fresh Quinsyberry Botanical Body Oil ($18, 4.5 oz). Grease-free and sweet-smelling, this body oil is made from blackcurrant extract (antioxidant and anti-inflammatory) and vitamin C. It's a great after-shower staple as it leaves skin feeling smooth and moisturized.
L'Occitane Fleur D'Or & Acacia Luminous Body Oil ($25, 100ml) is another favorite. It's a spray on and gives skin a sexy radiant look. Made from mimosa and acacia extracts, this body oil hydrates like a boss without feeling icky-greasy.
Lucy B Apothecary Frangipani Bronzing Shimmer Oil ($30, 50ml or $48, 98.8 ml). Feeling glitzy for summer? this is a great bronzer-slash-shimmer-oil. It is made with argan and coconut oil which perfectly hydrate the skin most especially during warmer months! Boosted with frangipani and coconut fragrance, you will smell like you're vacationing somewhere tropical!
It Haircare 12-in-One Amazing Leave-In Treatment ($15.99, 150ml). This practically addresses every hair issue there is: frizziness, color-treated, dryness, split ends, tangles, heat protection, among others. It features absynnian oil, acai pulp, sunflower seed extract, raw avocado oil, pure argan oil, hazelnut oil and silk amino acids. Amazing is an understatement!
Simon & Tom Moroccan Oil Hair Serum ($17, 100 ml). An-all around treatment for hair, nails, hands and feet, this oil-based serum is made from high-grade argan oil which is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids.
Nume Argan Oil ($49, 59ml). I know, another argan oil but really, this precious oil has been used for centuries for various reasons including skin and haircare. While this is primarily good to keep hair hydrated and protected from constant exposure to hot tools, I use it to tame baby hairs and flyaways whenever I tie my hair up in a sleek bun.
Arganesse Hair Treatment ($27.99, 100ml). I'm glad that the price of this wonderful product has gone down from the first time I reviewed it 3 years ago (priced at $100 previously). With so many argan oil-based products I have tried, this has the shortest list of ingredients, with argan and tocopherol as the key features. It gives my long hair admirable shine and frizz-free moment!

Have you tried any of these products? what's your favorite beauty oil?
What a great idea for a post! I love skin and hair oils, too. I have a few on your list, such as the IT Hair oil that I too love, but thank you for tempting me with all of these new ones!!
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I only have a couple of the oils on your list! Clearly I need to try more of them! Awesome post, twinsy!
ReplyDeleteArgan Oil and Coconut oil are my go to.
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with the It 12-in-ONE Treatment! It's one of the few leave-in treatments that actually work for my hair!
ReplyDeleteThat IT Hair 12-in-1 is my everything. Ride or die. It replaced like 5 products for me.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried all of your suggestions but the ones I have are great. My favorite is the Farmhouse Fresh Quinsyberry Oil. I love that one.
ReplyDeleteI want the Lucy B one for the scent alone! Some really great picks.
ReplyDeleteI remember the first time oil was suggested, I was horrified. My skin is so oily and acne prone. Once I tried it though - I was hooked!
ReplyDeleteLove this post! I'm a huge fan of oils as well. I'm currently using the one from Colleen Rothschild, but the Farmhouse Fresh one sounds like it will be my next purchase!
ReplyDeleteI love this post too! I never would have considered adding oil to any part of my body either until a few years ago as well. It sure can be beneficial!
