Last week, I gave you a preview of my Sephora VIB Rouge mini-haul. On top of my must-own is the newly-launched Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer. There are two shades available, Luminous Bronze Light (fair/light) and Radiant Bronze Light (medium/dark). I picked up the latter, which according to the website description, flatters medium to deep complexions. If you own any of the Ambient Lighting Blush (I reviewed Mood Exposure and Diffused Heat), you will notice stark similarity in the presentation.
Heftier with more product, hence pricier than the blush ($50, 0.39 oz/11g vs. $35, 0.15 oz/4.2g), Radiant Bronze Light is golden beige, very warm and deep to be more succinct. It has bronze satin finish with gold micro shimmers, which similar to the blush, renders subtle luminosity if applied correctly. With that said, start and blend with light strokes because it may come out orangey against the skin if you go overboard.
Do you own a similar shade? Here is Radiant Bronze Light in comparison to some of my favorite bronzers (reviews are linked). You can see that Hourglass tops the vibrance department so listen to yo' mama, apply modestly or you risk looking oompa loompa.

Will you buy this bronzer?

The packaging is seriously gorgeous! I'm not sure I like the orange-ness in the bronzer, though. I love how subtle Laguna is; in comparison, Hourglass may be a bit much, particularly for those of us who haven't quite mastered the art of light-handed application :)
ReplyDeleteSunkissed! I wonder if the light version has such warm undertones. I'm too pale to get away with this one.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very pretty bronzer. LOL I love your warning about not applying too much or else you'll look like an oompa loompa. can you put that in large bold letters?
ReplyDeletePretty sure I need one of these bronzers. I love the powders and blush. Bronzer seems to to be the natural progression.
ReplyDeleteBronzer looks so great on you. On me, it looks like my face is dirty ;)
ReplyDeleteIn all honestly I won't be buying this bronzer, but only because I spent a lot at IMATS and I am attending The Makeup Show next weekend and momma needs to check herself with two months to go until baby arrives, lol!!! It looks really beautiful on you and I LOVE Hourglass' blushes and other powders!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great on you Kath! It's a bit too warm for me though!
ReplyDeleteThese are GORGEOUS.
ReplyDeleteI love the Hourglass ambient products. I could buy all of them!
ReplyDeleteI keep trying to tell myself I don't need this bronzer, but I may have to add it to my wish list.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful bronzer, I'm really thinking of picking it up, but I seriously so don't need another one! I do want it though :)
ReplyDeleteI've been a fan of Hourglass for awhile but hadn't tried these yet! Especially thank you for the comparisons!
ReplyDeleteYou have a seriously great Hourglass collection. If I wore bronzer more than once in a while I'd want this one.
ReplyDeleteIt's so big ( I'm very tempted to add "that's what she said", but I guess I just did.) I really don't need another bronzer, but this is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I have been debating buying it for while now!
ReplyDeleteMine just came in! I'm so glad I got both. You look so gorgeous <3
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is beautiful! When I swatched it in the store, it was REALLY glittery though - so I'm still on the fence
ReplyDeleteYou look so fabulous
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your photos girl - you look FABULOUS! Ack... this looks like something I want badly. :D
ReplyDeleteI rarely use bronzer, but I am addicted to Hourglass and bought them anyway... I'm going to try using them this weekend!
ReplyDeleteLOVING the new design!! Also, I need this. Obviously.
