Give it to Tom Ford when it comes to breaking the norm. While Spring is easily associated with subtle and pastel shades, this year's collection is bursting with deep plum, jade, indigo, and all sorts of smokin' hot sexiness (The Beauty Professor has swatches of the entire collection if you're curious to see). I skipped the eye duos but purchased the Limited Edition Creme Color For Eyes, a bewitching khaki-mud cream eyeshadow you can use alone or as base for intense smokey eyes.
This particular eyeshadow has the creamiest consistency compared to Chanel Illusion D'Ombre, Givenchy Ombre Couture and Diorshow Fusion Mono. It's not carved in stone but here's what I do for seamless application: (1) I use a small flat eyeshadow brush to scoop out and then pat it on my lids (2) smudge the color with my ring finger (3) blend with crease brush to soften the edge (4) repeat until I'm satisfied with the intensity. One-color smokey eyes, of course it's possible.
Worn over an eye primer, this cream eye shadow lasts about eight hours with very minimal fading. I didn't experience creasing whether used as an eyeshadow or eyeliner (un-set with powder eye shadow). The quality that is Tom Ford is strikingly evident, let the following photos speak...
Makeups used
Tom Ford Brow Sculptor Chestnut
Tom Ford Lip Color Pink Dusk
Guerlain Super Aqua-Serum BB+ Hydra
NARS Radiant Concealer
Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Powder Foundation
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow

ReplyDeleteI LOVE that Tom Ford didn't come out with pastels. I look forward to spring but tire of seeing the same shades year after year. You created such a sultry look with this!!! I can't do cream shadows that well though since they ALWAYS crease on me so I'm really happy to hear that this one didn't.
