Reds That Turn Heads :: My Top 5 Red Lipsticks

Feeling sick? wear red lipstick. Bad hair day? wear red lipstick. Need to boost confidence? wear red lipstick. Stuck in a makeup rut? wear red lipstick. Not to sound so echolalic but red lipstick is the jack-of-all-trade in a woman's world. It clearly solves any dilemma, big or small, by leaps and bounds. Trust this zilla, there is that PERFECT red made for you. Here are my top five favorites to-date:

A Sephora VIB Rouge Exclusive, Marc Jacobs 240 So Rouge (reviewed here) is femme fatale in a tube. Packaged in a feisty red case, tell me this ain't for the average woman. It's a true red shade with semi-matte finish. 

Stylish in gunmetal plaid, Burberry Lip Cover Ruby No.18 (reviewed here) is blue-based red with satin finish. The magnetic case is uber chic and mesmerizing to say the least.

I'm a sucker for mattes (90s rule!) so hands down my ultimate top choice happens to be Tom Ford Lip Color Matte 07 Ruby Rush (reviewed here). When strangers randomly compliment you and ask what lipstick you are wearing, you know what you have on is legit! Ruby Rush is another true red I adore to the nth degree! 

Coy yet ethereal, YSL Rouge Volupte Shine 4 Rouge in Danger (reviewed here) is true red with glossy finish and enviable pigmentation. The iconic gold and YSL logo make this lippy a staple in any high-end stash.

Still one of my go-to when it comes to superb color payoff, finish and packaging, Givenchy Le Rouge 308 Rouge D'Exception (reviewed here) is brick red like no other. It compliments my medium skin tone with the right amount of warmth. A classic shade I don't mind repurchasing over and over.
