I was supposed to pick up Wet n Wild last week but settled for NYC IndividualEyes 943 Smokey Greens. At the same price as WNW's six-color palette ($4.99, CVS), I thought this was a good deal because it has four coordinating eye shadows that are supposed to flatter green eyes (I have brown peepers though), an eye primer and illuminator.

It has a plastic cover with labels to guide makeup newbies: frosted nude to highlight brow bone and tear duct; light purple for lid; eggplant for crease; grayish-purple for contouring. Except for the grayish-purple which is matte, the other three eye shadows are quite shimmery in texture. Color pay-off is surprisingly good especially when used with a primer.

| A: Without Primer B: With Primer |
The primer is sub-standard and greasy, and it did crease after two hours (fyi, I have oily lids). I found the illuminator of no use since it is quite oily too. I suggest to use a different primer if you want more outstanding results from this palette (try NYX).
Over-all, I would rate this baby as : 4/5
| At less than five dollars, this is a nice addition to your makeup collection. Your lids may not be as oily as mine so the primer may work for you better. |
You don't need to have green eyes to rock this palette, here are some photos to give you an idea. I used all four eye shadows. I skipped the illuminator and used NYX eye primer.

It looks great on you :) I have the Union Square pallete & I LOVE it!
ReplyDelete@87sassysam thanks much. NYC is catching up with Wet n Wild's affordability and quality...
